I was born in Brazil and have lived here most of my life.

When I was 21, I had the opportunity to live in the United States. I lived in East Hampton New York, N.Y, with an American family for 3,5 years. There, I continued to master the English language by taking advanced ESL courses in Southampton College, N.Y.  Apart from going to college,  I have taken many teacher's training courses in Brazil and overseas. I love studying and I am willing to take any course that will help me improve my practice. I have chosen to be a teacher who does not only expect the best of their students but also of myself. In East Hampton, I worked as a nanny.  Being a baby-sitter led me to the desire of working with kids and being a teacher. Later on, I became a life coach and also a Teacher trainer.

I became a teacher for a very simple reason - I want to make a difference. Every day, people around the world are being told that they aren't good enough, or that they just "can't". As a teacher, I feel I have the power to make them believe in themselves and follow their dreams, no matter what difficulties they may have to face on the way. I realize that teaching is a profession that can be extremely exhausting, but I believe that the benefits are worth it! Teaching requires patience, understanding, compassion, and enthusiasm - all things that I am more than able to provide on a daily basis.

Although I started off teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) to  kids only, I have also taught to adults and I really enjoy it. My adult students were my inspiration for choosing the slogan:"MEU INGLÊS PERCORRENDO O MUNDO" for a project I created. What I tell them is that they can do anything they want, if they just believe and go for it. They do not need perfect English to travel around the world. Many of my students have gotten the courage to travel overseas after one year of studying English with me. Most of them thought they could only do it after being an advanced student or being proficient. They have noticed that all they need is to be able to communicate, and that fluency will come with time, as they give their best, believe in themselves and take risks speaking the language.

In 2007, a group of Japanese parents living in Brazil hired me to teach English to their kids,  5 days a week, 2 hours a day.

They  were one of the representatives for the GrapeSEED English for Children Curriculum around the world.

I taught their kids for 4 years and they were very pleased with the results. They invited me to join the GrapeSEED team and I did. I went to Japan and Mongolia twice. I was trained in Sendai, Japan and received the certification as an authotized GrapeSEED trainer, and was part of the international team of trainers for the "GrapeSEED English Curriculum" in Brazil and overseas.

My most exciting experience as a teacher was going to Japan and  Mongolia. There, I taught in a multicultural environment, where Kids were learning 5 languages at the same time.  What amazed me the most was their ability to interact in each environment not only using the language, but also respecting the culture of the language they were studying. For example, in my English class they had shoes on. When they went to Japanese class they would automatically take their shoes off and go to class barefoot. When the teacher entered the class, they would stand up and bow in respect. It was amazing! I have learned that we should never underestimate our student's capacity.

In 2013, I decided to gather all I had learned so far and had been doing in class with my students, and created a Project called IDEA ( Inglês Diferenciado para Escolas e Alunos). Its aim is to help students and schools with their particular necessities, creating a personalized program to help them improve their teaching/school program/English level.

As you go through my Portfolio, you will notice how much I love what I do, and how eager I am to share my expertise with others.
